Take your typical oblivious pedestrian and give them speed and wheels, now add to that your typical crappy Boston driver. Subtract street smarts and common sense. It is a formula for disaster despite a nice bike lane through BU campus and the most advanced helmet in the world. As a biker myself, I'm astounded as to why there aren't 10x more bike accidents.
