Emily Van Kley

Van Kley, Emily

Emily Van Kley grew up in rural Upper Michigan, where she learned to ski, waitress, and write about snow. Now, she makes her home in Washington state. She received an MFA from the Inland Northwest Center for Writers in Spokane and her work has also appeared in Faultline. As TRoL goes to press, she and her partner will be finishing two months as volunteers with the Soulforce Equality Ride, a bus tour that aims to spark dialogue on college and university campuses that have discriminatory policies against LGBT students. It is her fervent hope that, once the ride finishes she will once again find time to write..
