Bio:
My name is Matt Seidel, and I'm from Wayne, NJ. I was born on December 6, 1987 and have lived in New Jersey my entire life until coming to Boston. At BU, I'm pursuing a major in Political Science with a concentration in American Politics and a second major in English. I am also a pre-law student with the intention of studying constitutional law in the future.
I have volunteered for after school programs, food kitchens, a local city councilman, and at nursing homes in New Jersey. At BU, I've been involved basically with some form of student government since arriving at the Holiday Inn, where I spent my first semester of freshman year. I was also involved with Mock Trial here, which allowed me to get a feel for litigation. I've served as an RHA president and in CAS Forum, the student government for the College of Arts and Sciences. After having worked on the Academic Affairs Committee last year in the Union, I am very thankful to serve as chairman and realize the important responsibilities that come with this position.
Boston University has given me truly amazing opportunities. Since being at BU, I've made some good friends, seen things I have never seen in Jersey, and truly been able to immerse myself both in school and social events. I have chosen to get as involved as possible with the Student Union in order to give back to a school that has opened up many doors for me and my future, and I hope to work toward creating more opportunities for students on campus today and in years to come.
