Bio:
Adil was born in Montreal, Canada. Moving in his youth has prevented “eh” from becoming part of his vocabulary. Adil has lived in Providence, Rhode Island and Dallas, Texas. At the age of ten he moved to Beirut, Lebanon where his father, mother, younger brother and sister still live today along with their german shepherd named Sushi and beagle, Skip.
Before coming to BU, Adil attended school at the International College in Beirut where he obtained an International Baccalaureate degree. Outside the classroom, Adil was a passionate volunteer at St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, president of his class and member of his high school’s student government, traveled extensively with the common ground and leadership building youth organization CISV and an enthusiastic soccer player.
At BU, Adil is pursuing a degree in Biology and a minor in French in the College of Arts and Sciences. His dream is to one day serve his community by becoming a doctor. Adil has begun working to achieve this goal through his volunteer work at Dana Farber Cancer Research Hospital. He has also done scientific research including being a part of the National Geographic’s Genographic Project, tracing the history of human migration.
Before joining the Student Union executive board Adil was president of the class of 2008 in CAS Forum and treasurer of the Premedical Society. Coming from a multicultural background has given Adil a global perspective on issues and a strong appreciation for diversity of all forms.
This summer Adil will be in Boston working with students, faculty and administrators to pursue policies that will produce sustainable, tangible change and positively affect the university community.
Adil strongly believes in the Union’s role as the student advocacy group and unifying force for the student body. With dedicated leaders at all levels of the university community, Adil is excited to be part of a Union that will actively engage students, address student concerns and promote both communication and unity within the BU community.
Some of Adil’s interests include spending time with friends, Lebanese food, music, snowboarding, traveling and discovering new cultures. Want to know more? Adil once drank a cup of hot sauce on a dare in the Warren dining hall and lived to tell the tale.
