Creating PDFs from Paper Documents

There are three options available for you to create PDF files: create them using the automated Digital Sender, create them using a computer scanner, or create them electronically from your computer.

The HP Digital Sender is an automated scanning machine located in the Consulting Services Office at 111 Cummington St. It is equipped with a paper feeder that can take a stack of 50 pages, and resembles a fax machine in functionality and use. The Digital Sender converts your paper documents to .pdf or .tif files and emails them to any email address you input. Additional information can be found here.

Scanning stations are also located in the Consulting Services Office at 111 Cummington St. Both Windows and Macintosh scanning stations are available and can scan stacks of 30 pages at a time, single and double-sided, in full color. Most users find these scanning stations to be easier to use and Help Desk staff are available for assistance. Output from these stations can be emailed, uploaded to ACS accounts, or burned to CD. Additional information can be found here.

Windows users can create PDFs directly using Adobe Acrobat or pdf 995; Macintosh users can create PDFs natively by selecting "Print", "Save As PDF..." for any OS/X program.
