Issues while attempting to attach and upload files can be the result of using an incorrect browser or Java issues, or both.

Certain versions of the Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari browsers are not compatible with the Blackboard Vista platform. Compatible browsers for Windows users include Internet Explorer Version 6 and 7 (SP2) as well as Firefox 1.5 and 2.0; Macintosh OS/X 10.2 or 10.3 users should use Firefox 1.0 and Macintosh OS/X 10.4 to 10.5 users can use either Firefox 2.0 or Safari 3.0. We do recommend that all Windows users download and use Firefox 2.0 instead of Internet Explorer as it generally tends to have fewer problems.

You could also be having a Java-related problem. Before using the work-around, please check the two items below to attempt to get your "MyComputer" icon back:

  1. Run the Browser Check to ensure that you have a compatible Java version.
  2. Clear out your Java cache.
