Anti-Virus

You should uninstall Norton/Symantec Anti-Virus before attempting to use Blackboard Vista and more importantly BEFORE you install McAfee Anti-Virus. Having two anti-virus software programs installed at once will cause severe problems with your machine.

Uninstall Norton Anti-Virus and Install McAfee Anti-Virus

1. Save the McAfee Anti-Virus software to your computer's Desktop.
2. In the Dock (located at the bottom of your screen) click on the Finder.
   
3. Type Norton in the Finder's search feature (in the upper right corner of the screen).
   
4. For each Norton listing you see, click and hold on the program and drag it to your Trash.
   
5. Empty your Trash.
6. Repeat steps 1 - 4 using Symantec as the search criteria.
7. Repeat steps 1 - 4 using Live Reg Update as the search criteria.
8. Install the McAfee Anti-Virus that you downloaded in Step #1 on your Macintosh computer if desired.
9. Proceed to Login to Vista.
