Description
Web site content editing has never been easier than it is now
with Macromedia Contribute. Intended specifically
for non-technical users, Contribute makes it easy
to create, edit, and publish web pages. No previous experience
is necessary. You don't need to learn HTML or Dreamweaver. If you can
navigate in a web browser and open/edit/save Word documents, you
can maintain content on a web site with Macromedia Contribute.
This tutorial is intended for web site content providers who have
little to no previous experience with web publishing and/or have
difficulty learning Dreamweaver.
Instruction is provided on creating a new site
definition in Contribute, basic interface
elements of Contribute, browsing your site, editing content on
existing pages,
creating new pages on your site, importing content, and publishing
your web pages.
Benefits
After completing this class, you will be able to:
- define a web site for editing in Contribute
- edit content on existing pages and publish changes to the
web
- import text from Microsoft Word documents onto your web page
- create new pages based on a copy of an existing web page
- create new pages based on a Dreamweaver template
- upload a "draft" page to solicit comments before publishing
Prerequisites
Experience navigating your site with a web browser and experience
creating, editing, and saving Microsoft Word documents (or equivalent).
Also, the administrator of your web site must attend Contribute
for Site Administrators.
