Description

Macromedia Dreamweaver is a powerful Web page editor that features a number of advanced tools for managing your Web site. In this course, you will learn the fundamentals of using library items, templates, and server-side includes. These features allow you to maintain consistent elements across your entire site while allowing you the convenience of single-source editing to make any changes or revisions to all instances of these elements. You can view a course outline and course materials online.

Benefits

After completing this class, you will be able to:

  1. create and use library items on your site.
  2. create and use templates on your site.
  3. create and use server-side includes on your site.
  4. configure the program to edit SSI files directly within Dreamweaver.
  5. centrally manage, edit, and maintain your library items and templates from within the assets panel.

Prerequisites

Dreamweaver: Managing Files (or equivalent knowledge). An account on people.bu.edu, or access to a site on www.bu.edu, is recommended.
